Rachel Wolz is a saxophonist, clinician, and educator based in Los Angeles, California. She serves as Adjunct Instructor of Saxophone at Lee College and Elementary Music Instructor for Musical Minds Academy. Previously, she was on faculty at Chaminade College Preparatory High School as the Long-Term Substitute Instructor of Instrumental Music. 

As an active chamber musician, Rachel regularly performs with the Gold Line Quartet, a Los Angeles-based saxophone quartet that bridges classical repertoire with contemporary music, film scores, and pop hits from the 1990s to today. The group has performed at venues across Southern California such as Boston Court Pasadena, Our Savior Lutheran Church, and the Los Angeles Natural History Museum, and has been described as “a treat to hear” and “captivating…guests and creating an enchanting ambiance.” Additionally, Rachel has appeared with ensembles such as the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Colburn Orchestra, and Music Academy of the West. Rachel’s discography includes albums Cereus (New Focus Recording) and Band Kids for Life (Funk Sauce Brass Band). Rachel’s performances have been recognized in the International Artists Competition. 

Rachel earned a Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of California, Los Angeles, where she was a recipient of the Eugene V. Cota-Robles Fellowship. Rachel holds Master’s degrees in Saxophone Performance and Music Theory from the University of Oklahoma and Bachelor’s degrees in Saxophone Performance and Music Composition from Illinois State University. Her primary instructors include Dr. Paul Nolen, Dr. Jonathan Nichol, and Dr. Jan Berry Baker.
